ETCOG is proud to announce the launch of our Veteran-Friendly Community Designation Program, a partnered initiative designed to honor and recognize communities within Texas that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting our nation’s veterans.
As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that veterans receive the recognition, resources, and respect they deserve, this program provides an opportunity for cities across Texas to be formally acknowledged for their dedication to creating environments where veterans and their families can thrive.
Why This Program Matters
Veterans have given so much in service to our country, and it is essential that our communities step up to support them as they transition back to civilian life. The Veteran-Friendly Community Designation serves as a badge of honor, signaling that a city is committed to providing the necessary resources, services, and opportunities to improve the quality of life for veterans.
How to Apply
Cities interested in applying for the Veteran-Friendly Community Designation can start by reviewing the program’s eligibility criteria. The criteria focus on providing an economic environment and community support specifically tailored to veterans. The application process is straightforward, and our team is here to assist every step of the way. All applications are due by November 29, 2024.
We encourage all cities within our region to apply for this designation and join us in making East Texas a leader in veteran support.
