We proudly serve a membership of 14 counties,
79 cities and over 30 ISDs and special districts.
We have a wide array of services we offer that provide solutions to common problems. We even offer some at a low rate that can result in major cost savings!
ETCOG consists of more than 120 member governments and organizations that represent the people of its 14-county region — Anderson, Camp, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Marion, Panola, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood counties. Formed in 1970, it is one of 24 councils of governments in Texas that serves those same communities as an advocate, planner, and coordinator of regionalism.
ETCOG is governed by local elected officials through its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Many policy and advisory committees assist ETCOG and its Executive Committee in taking beneficial actions for all in the region.
Membership in the Council of Governments is voluntary and is open to the following eligible entities within State Planning Region 6 (as determined by the Office of the Governor).
ETCOG provides the services and support local communities need to grow and thrive. We serve as the bridge between federal, state, and local governments, helping our member cities and counties solve challenges and impact the future regionally.
