With the leadership and guidance of our Board, Executive Committee, and Advisory Committees, we are hard at work to serve East Texas and provide regional solutions. This report offers information and stats on how we served the community in the Fiscal Year 2024 (October 1 - September 30) through our service agencies. It has been our pleasure to serve Gregg County!
$1.4M in grants were funded within the county to help build strong communities, improve public safety, and/or minimize solid waste
$10.4K in grants were allocated to support recycling events and an environmental assessment for a Brownfields location
$72.6K was invested in the
911 system, combined with allocating $1.3M in public safety grants to help keep East Texans safe
1.3K seniors received services through our Area Agency on Aging to meet the social, nutritional, educational, and logistic needs of residents
10.4K public transit trips were provided through GoBus to help residents get to where they need to go
21.8K job seekers and employers were served by Workforce Solutions East Texas, and $8.1M went to families within the county to subsize their child care
Working with local, state, and federal partners, ETCOG assists with prioritizing and administering important grants in our region. The following grants were awarded this fiscal year for solid waste minimization, public safety, and/or economic development initiatives.
Loan Project Funded
In addition to the above grants,
$2.2M was funded in a partnered SBA 504 business loan through the East Texas Regional Development Company for a small business in Gregg County. This business development project created
5 jobs.
ETCOG is the state designated organization for municipal solid waste planning in our region. We utilize regional goals and waste diversion resources to coordinate projects that benefit health and safety. Here are some results from the funded cleanup projects in your county.

ETCOG administers the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas, utilizing state and federal funding to help seniors with information and referral assistance, benefits counseling, legal assistance, care coordination and caregiver support. We also coordinate in-home support, legal awareness, nutrition and ombudsman services.
