Assisting the region with all-hazards planning, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts, while strengthening the regional 9-1-1 system and helping local communities and first responders coordinate resources and training.
We are responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of our Regional 911 Network. Contact us to request or verify your 911 address.
We help local communities and first responders coordinate resources and training and fund regional police training.
Grants open through the Office of the Governor for public safety funding. We hold annual grant workshops to assist our local jurisdictions, ISDs, and non-profits in applying.
Working in partnership with state and local officials, ETCOG has been tapped as the primary planning and coordinating entity for Emergency 911 Communications in East Texas. We work with the State to have fully deployed, advanced 911 services for wireless callers and help plan for Next Generation 911. We also support first responders and plan regionally for disasters by partnering with the Texas Office of the Governor to coordinate Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Planning. ETCOG provides training to law enforcement personnel through support of the East Texas Police Academy and oversees the Regional Juvenile Services Program.
