The East Texas Council of Governments (ETCOG) is now accepting interest forms from individuals passionate about making a difference in our region. We have multiple vacancies on our advisory committees, and we invite citizens in our region to submit your interest for consideration. Our committees have various requirements of its membership makeup. Please take a look below if you may be eligibile to join.
Committee Vacancies:
Aging Advisory Committee – 8 vacancies
- This committee advises the ETCOG Executive Committee on matters related to senior programs and services in our region.
- Seeking representatives for Anderson, Panola, Rusk, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood counties.
Criminal Justice Advisory Committee – 3 vacancies
- This committee assists the Executive Committee with regional criminal justice program-related issues.
- Members may represent the following groups:
- Citizens or parents
- Drug Abuse Prevention
- Education
- Juvenile Justice
- Law Enforcement
- Mental Health
- Nonprofit Organizations
- Prosecution / Court Personnel
- Victim Services Providers
Solid Waste Advisory Committee – 6 vacancies
- This committee supports ETCOG’s regional solid waste coordination role.
- Vacancies include:
- One elected official
- Two public sector representatives
- Two private industry solid waste collection representatives
- One private industry solid waste management representative
- Counties without representation include: Anderson, Camp, Cherokee, Harrison, Marion, and Rusk.
