The East Texas Council of Governments’ Solid Waste Program encourages youth to “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” material they find around their home and community through an educational video aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Science for East Texas Early Childhood Outcomes and Texas Pre-kindergarten Guidelines for ages three through five. The video will be released to child care facilities in East Texas through the East Texas Workforce Solutions' Texas Rising Star Program.
The video encompasses practical solutions children can implement to keep their communities clean while showing off East Texas beauty. The fun and interactive video provides real-world, age-appropriate solutions that kids can immediately begin to practice.
Video topics include combating litter, recycling, composting, conservation, reducing waste, and reusing common products.
This production was made possible by the East Texas Council of Governments (ETCOG) and the East Texas Council of Governments’ Solid Waste Advisory Committee through a grant from TCEQ. It was developed in collaboration with Workforce Solutions East Texas' Texas Rising Star Program. The video was produced by Media Quest.
