ETCOG and the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas (AAA) are seeking vendors to provide meals to East Texas seniors through its Senior Nutrition Program. A request for proposals (RFP) is released every three (3) years to seek partnerships with agencies to provide community based congregate and home delivered meals to qualified senior citizens aged 60 and above who reside within our 14-county East Texas Region. This year, the RFP offers diversified partnership opportunities by providing two service plans to meet these needs as either a ‘Standard Senior Nutrition Program Provider’ to provide ‘day-to-day’ administration services or an ‘Emergency Senior Nutrition Program Provider’ to provide temporary meal delivery and/or meal preparation services as needed.
“We have taken steps to restructure the administration of the Senior Nutrition program to offer alternatives
that we hope will attract more potential vendors to support this important program thorough out our 14-
county region. Please accept this message as my personal invitation to attend the public meeting to learn
more!” said Executive Director David Cleveland.
ETCOG and the AAA will host a public meeting on Tuesday, July 2nd, for interested partners to learn about
the senior nutrition program history, new service enhancements, and partnership opportunities with a
program that helps seniors remain independent and active in their community. Partnering organizations
may be non-profits, churches, school districts, hospitals, restaurants, municipalities, and more. The meeting
will be held at 10:00 AM at ETCOG offices located in Kilgore at 3800 Stone Road.
If you plan to attend the meeting, please register at www.etcog.org/news. The RFP for Senior Nutrition
